If you don’t have any of these then you must buy them before Diwali. But if you don’t find it near your home then don’t worry, you will buy them online. If you buy online then you also get a good discount on them due to Diwali Sale.

1) Make a Stage

The very first thing is to make a stage for keeping Laxmi Ji. So, for making a stage, get a raised platform, also known as Chourang in common. Now, spread a white and red cloth on each other onto the raised platform (Chourang). Place a fist full of rice on the center of the cloth. You can also use wheat in place of rice.

2) Assemble Kalash

Now place the Kalash (Globular Water Container made of Brass), filled with 50-75% of water. Take 5 leaves of mango and place it in Kalash in such a way that it comes half out of Kalash and half inside on the circumference of the Kalash opening. And then place the Coconut on the Kalash opening.

3) Place and Prepare Idol of Goddess Laxmi

Bring the Idol of Goddess Laxmi and wash it with Panchamrut and water respectively. While bathing the idol, chant the Laxmi mantra continuously. Draw lotus on rice with the help of Haldi and place the idol onto it after applying Tika. Put the garland made of flowers onto the idol.

4) Place Lord Ganesh’s Idol or Photo

As we all know, in every puja in Hinduism, first prayers to Lord Ganesha are offered. So, we need an idol of Ganesha or at least a photo. Clean it, apply tika, and place it beside the idol of Goddess Laxmi.

5) Club Your Precious Items

Bring all your precious items and place them in front of the idol. Apply haldi and kumkum on all of them.

6) Start the Puja

Now, it’s time to start the puja. Light up Panch Mukhi Diya (Five Faced Diya) which helps to get rid of negativity and welcome positivity. Apply Tilak to Kalash and offer some flowers/flower petals on Kalash.

7) Prayers And Recitation

Take the mixture of rice, flower petals, Haldi, and kumkum in your hand and close the fist and eyes. Recite Diwali puja Mantra and offer the mixture after recitation in front of the idol.

8) Bring Sweets

Place sweets (Bhog), fruits, or any food item. (preferably, sweets)

Laxmi Aarti

Now recite the Laxmi Aarti using Aarti Thali.
